Tell me about the pre and post competition party's

 

To get warmed up for the action or just to start your weekend off on the right foot, meet up with everyone at the Barry Memorial Hall on Friday night. As everyone descends on Barry, the freestyle is a great chance to catch up with friends from around the country and dance with some new acquaintances. See details below.

 

Equally, once you have that dancing bug we all know how hard it is to stop! Take your sunny's and catch breakfast and coffee on Barry Island Beach Sunday morning. Then on your way out of Wales, stop off at one of our Premier venues, the Lysaght Institute for the FLAVA tea dance. There will be tea and cake like you have never seen, gently getting you ready for the journey home.

 

'Dancing with the Stars' @ The Memorial Hall, Barry 


'Dance with the Stars' is the pre-competition freestyle night at Barry Memorial Hall on Friday 28 September 2018. With top DJs all night, a Silc switch at midnight and the fun TAG competition. This freestyle boasts the best dancers from around the UK including the judges, teachers, crew and fellow competitors.

The party night will allow you to sample the wonderful venue at its best and will kick start
your dancing weekend on the Friday evening before the main Welsh championships. Doors open at 8 pm, and the event finishes at 1 am. Only £13 per person on the door.

FLAVA Tea dance @ The Lysaght Institute


The Sunday see FLAVA our afternoon (tea dance) freestyle where you can dance and chill out to funked up moody blues, funky blues, R&B, soul, modern tango and smooth latin tunes, provided by our resident superstar DJ's Dragon Queen Heather, Mumma Jen & Lyndsey Bee.

 

The Lysaght Institute Corporation Road, NP19 Newport. It has a large smooth sprung dance floor to groove into and beautiful decor to chill out in. Not forgetting lots of lovely homemade cakes provided by dancers from Ceroc South Wales (thank you team!) and free tea and coffee to keep you going!

You can pay at the door, no ticket needed; And if you have a Welsh Champs 2019 wristband still attached, we will give you our discount entry of £5!! The standard cost is £10.00. It starts at 2.30pm till 6.00pm. Afterwards join the team for a very reasonably priced Carvery at Blaina Wharf, across the road.
